Us ravens usually get no respect since we are part of the crow family, so it's hard to find a safe place to stay. When I heard that a famous Texan was given a nickname of "The Raven", I decided to go to the town named after him. However, it was too big of a city, so I flew north about 60 miles to a park near a large statue of him on the outskirts of the town he died in. This park also has a lake named after me, so I knew it would be a great place to reside if I could get away from all the people. I followed the park road past the entrance station and veered right toward the Prairie Branch Camping Area. I noticed a trail head at the end of this road and followed the Prairie Branch Loop straight past the first jct to a second jct, which is the Dogwood Trail. I flew right and followed this trail about 105 human steps to a large uprooted tree on the right. I continued about 57 human steps, turned right and flew 15 human steps off trail until I was over a 3 foot stump. I decided to roost here under some bark and leaves. I noticed the Lone Star Trail was only about 46 human steps further on the Dogwood trail if you wanted to explore it later. Please re-cover me well to keep my roost safe.
