Coyote Canter Letterbox
Take a walk out on the shortgrass prairie, find unique plants and animals along the way, and discover a letterbox at the end! What could be better than that? They say that the best way to see the prairie is on foot; come see for yourself.

Difficulty: Easy 2 miles hike, Easy-Moderate Clues

This trail can be found at the Plains Conservation Center. The PCC manages over 1,100 acres of land in Aurora and is a safe haven for many prairie animals, including prairie dogs, coyotes, pronghorn, burrowing owls, raptors, songbirds, and more. Our mission is to acquaint people with the natural and cultural history of the shortgrass prairie. Because we are an educational facility, we ask that people searching for letterboxes come during our public hours to pick up their clue sheet (Saturdays 9-5 in the summer), or call ahead to see if we can accommodate you during the week—most likely we can! We are open for scheduled groups 8-4:30, 5 days a week, and open to the public for drop-in visits on Saturdays, 9-5, between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

There is an entrance fee of $5.00 for non-members (free for members).

Please feel free to call us at (303) 693-3621.
We are located at 21901 E. Hampden Ave. Aurora, Colorado. 80013
