Taphophile - One who loves cemeteries and graveyards.

The Duck Creek Cemetery is an abandoned cemetery (no longer in use, no caretaker) located just outside of Sanger. The last known burial occurred in the early 1900's.

Directions: Take I35 north from Denton towards Sanger. Take Exit 477, Keaton Rd Exit. Off the service road, turn right onto Business Loop I35. At stop sign, turn left. Continue straight, crossing over highway. At "T" intersection turn right. Go approx 0.4 miles, at stop sign turn left on Duck Creek Rd. Go approx 1.5 miles, you will have gone through 2, 90 degree turns and across a bridge. To your left will be a gravel road, named Sullivan Rd (sign is a bit hidden), turn left. Go approx 0.1 miles. On your left you will see some tombstones and a metal sign stating "cemetery". Pull into the drive but be careful to only pull about 2 car lengths in, for there is a huge hole and you will begin to drive on tombstones. Park and walk on foot up the drive. You will see a white limestone bench memorial ahead just to the left. Directly behind this bench, you will see a broken gravestone for "R.L Whitehead." Hidden behind this leaning gravestone is the Duck Creek box.

Feel free to browse around, check out the markers, etc. Be on the look out for holes, manure piles and possible cow bones. There is also a geocache hidden in the back right corner!

Please replace the box as found, with branches shielding it.

There will be more boxes placed in this series so please keep checking back!
