Difficulty: Easy, only need a vehicle and walking is within about 10 feet of parking
Distance to Letterbox: About five-six miles from mid Sedona

Status of Minibox: First finder 12/25/2008 Shaun Chandler, second finder Desert Flower 12/31/2008

Directions:

Starting in Sedona on the main road through town (Hwy 89A), heading west, turn left at the light at the Upper Red Rock Loop Road (the high school is on this corner). Drive about 2 miles on this road (it’s a bit curvy). You will see the turnoff to Red Rock Crossing on the left, but keep going straight for about a half mile more. Keep an eye out on the right very closely for a somewhat large green water tank just past a house. The tank has a chain link fence around it. IMMEDIATELY after the tank, turn right onto the dirt driveway (slightly uphill, but only a few feet off the road). Park right there. Don’t turn your vehicle. When you get out of your vehicle, you will see a place where ONLY pioneers of Sedona can rest for a very long time. Walk in front of your vehicle and to the right. Sit on the red rock bench. Look in front of you and see where my dad and mom are. My dad was James Elmer, Sr. and my mom was Antoinette Elmer. Off to the right of them lie my grandparents, Jesse James Elmer and Jessie Jeanette Elmer. My aunt and uncle are just beyond them and forward a bit. Now, stand up for a second and turn around 180 degrees. Look at the amazing view that our pioneers in Heaven have of the most photographed, beautiful rock formation known to pioneers as “Courthouse Bluff”, but known to tourists as “Cathedral Rock”. It’s an awesome sight.

Now, sit back down on the bench and slide all the way to the right. Look down on the ground at the bench’s base. The letterbox is underneath a red rock right there! Please enjoy the contents, leave a comment and your stamp, please date it, too!
