Take Highway 101 to Solvang, a Danish tourist town. I highly recommend walking around the shops in town and having some bratwurst and saurkraut in one of the restraunts.
You will enter town on Mission Drive. Continue on Mission Drive through town, then turn right on Alisal. Go 6 miles to Nojoqui Falls Park and follow the signs to the waterfall. On the trail, while you cross the second bridge, look down to your left for the root protruding from the wall as you get to the end of the rail. You will find the small letterbox tucked in the hole under the root behind a movable rock.
Park entrance is free, open 8 am to sunset, and has bathrooms and picnic tables. The hike to the falls is only 10 minutes and a pretty easy hike, slightly up hill and stairs in a few places (a two-and-a-half year old walked the whole thing without help). Enjoy the waterfall and the letterbox!
