Boots Tex and Lone Star Quilter are quite the letterboxing couple. Their great carvings and first-finder swatches of quilt have made their boxes highly sought-after, and their friendly personalities have made them popular on the TX List and at Gatherings. They put a lot of effort in their boxes, and each has an interesting story to tell. They are great representatives of TX Letterboxing, and it is with great pleasure that I dedicate this box to them! Feel free to express your appreciation of them in the logbook when you visit.
From Houston, take Hwy 59 to Cleveland and take the Coldspring exit, FM 2025. Go north about 14 miles until you see a small parking area on your right for the Lone Star Trail. From Coldspring, go south on FM 2025 to the parking area on the left, 1.2 miles from the turnoff to Double Lake Recreation Area.
Go through the fence a few yards to the trail going left and right and turn left, going through the hiker gate. Continue about 200 yards until you come to FM 2025, cross the road and find the trail on the other side. From the trail sign go 105 steps on the trail, then turn right and go 10 steps off trail to a pine and other skinny tree next to each other. The letterbox is between the trees under needles. Please re-cover well and be careful crossing the road.
