In 1945 the war in the Pacific ended. This song echoed the sentiments of parents, sweet hearts and returning servicemen throughout the reawakening world. For those who may remember this oldie, I've included the lyrics so you can sing as you walk to or from the letterbox.
"It's Been a Long, Long Time"
Just kiss me once. Then kiss me twice. Then kiss me once a-gain; it's been a long, long time. Have-n't felt like this my dear, since can't re-mem-ber when; it's been a long, long time. You'll nev-er know how man-y dreams I dreamed a-bout you, or just how emp-ty they all seemed with-out you. So, kiss me one. Then kiss me twice. Then kiss me once a-gain; it's been a long, long time. It's been a long, long time.
Clues:
5 minute walk
Walk on the paved path to the pavilion.
In front of you is a sign "A Moment in Time"
Facing the sign turn 1/4 to the right
Take 8 paces to a "V" shaped tree at your left
Peer through the "V" to see a bench that faces the pond.
Continue passed the bench till you're next to an orange plactic fence that incases a large
drainage grid for the pond.
From the center post, take 32 paces up a slight incline, stop.
To your right, a faint path (with pincher bushes) enter 8 paces in...a small utility shed is in
view
To your right, there is a semi-circular cemented rock thingy, circling a small cluster of trees.
Behind this is another cemented rock thingy that points to the sky.
Under a pile of rocks you'll find "Kiss Me Once Again" LB. Steal a kiss if you wish. (or a hug)
Be aware of the fishermen that may be watching you.
Please replace the LB in its same location.
