Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Letterbox: 25 yards
Status of Letterbox: Alive and Well
The "Pancho Villa's Raids" letterbox is located in Hebbronville, Texas, in the Old Hebbronville Cemetery (and they do mean OLD). In 1915, Viggo Kohler built the Hotel Viggo in Hebbronville to accommodate businessmen and area trevelers. Soon after opening the hotel served as a fortress when area ranchers feared and attack by Pancho Villa's men.
Directions:
From Hwy 16, turn east on Hwy 359. Turn right at about 4th street on Old Cemetery Road (no sign, so turn at VFW sign). Go just past the VFW, to cemetery on the right.
To the Letterbox:
Enter middle of cememtery gate. Go to the far back left corner (Southeast). Locate the 2nd wooden fence past to the right of the corner, near the cement grave with broken headstone. Box at base of pole, covered by rocks.
