This box is only accessible in the winter, when the cross country ski trails in Jackson are open.

Pay your trail fee at the Jackson Ski Touring Foundation on Route 16A in Jackson, then proceed via skis or snowshoes, via the Ellis River Trail (if on snowshoes, depart from the Ellis and take the Eskergo, and optionally the Thirsty Owl trail) to the JSTF Warming Cabin, situated on the Anklebiter trail next to the Cocoa Cabana. For less advanced skiers, after the first uphill on the Ellis, take the Riverbank Loop, which rejoins the Ellis River Trail 200m before the Cabin.

Across the trail from the warming cabin is Jackson Hole. When crossing the trail, watch out for skiers, and be careful not to step in the set tracks. Knock first, then enter Jackson Hole. Directly across from the door, there are three sections of the eaves. The Jackson Hole letterbox is in the middle section. If you're taller than Mo (5'9"), you may be able to see this without stretching. If you're as short as Lo (5'1"), you'll probably need to stand on the counter/bench to reach the box. You'll probably want to take the letterbox back across the trail to the warming cabin to stamp in, then return the box to exact location where you found it. In the log book, let us know how you got here (skis or snowshoes, and which trails, or if the box is accessible when it's not winter).
