Description:
The Morgan Trail offers oak woodlands and areas packed with great canyon vistas.
Streams and
wildflowers can be found in the spring.

Clues:
From the trailhead head down and into the oak woodland. The trail will level off and then you'll be
following the streambed, shaded by sycamore and oak trees. You will drop steeply to cross a small
narrow gully and then climb back out. Continue along until you see a log on your right with lots of
fungus growing on it. From the log go approximately 40 steps down the trail at 220 degrees
(magnetic North) until you see a bunch of big rocks on the right. From this point on the trail, go 14
steps at 218 degrees to a large oak that is next to a sail shaped rock. The letterbox is located in the
hollow center of the tree under some pieces of bark. If you get to the place where you cross the stream
and enter the wilderness, you've gone too far. Please hide the box well.
This is an orphaned box, so let us know by email when you visit!
Return the way you came for a short hike, or continue on as directed in the Local Hikes trail description.
