8/19/18 - this box has gone missing
Monkey Business on Wylie Beach
This letterbox will take you to one of the secluded and lesser known beaches. The original box went missing so we replaced it with a new one on 9/13/12.
Take 56 to Princeville and turn in at the big fountain of Neptune. At the second street which is Wyllie Rd. turn right. Go to the end of the road and you will see a public beach parking lot. The Westin Villas is to your immediate left. Park and lock your car.
Proceed down the steep, wide and sometimes muddy path. Watch out for the teed off locals on your right!
Continue down the path and you will pass the first of two concrete water diversion channels. Halfway between this one and the next one you will see a single trunk tree on your right with a small boulder in front of it and a multi-trunk tree behind it. The box is at the base of the multi-trunk tree on the downhill side behind and under some rocks.
Once you have stamped out, proceed down to the beach and enjoy a quiet, beautiful, secluded spot with shallow waters.
We will only get to Kauai every other year so let us know how our box is doing.
