Bass Lake has been a favorite family vacation spot for our family for many years...and still is.
In memory of Charlie, a loving father and grandfather who died in April 2006, we placed this letterbox at his most beloved place...Bass Lake. We hope you enjoy finding this letterbox and enjoying all the wonders of Bass Lake.
To find this Letterbox you will need to find the Willow Cove Day Use Parking Lot. It is off the main road near The Pines Resort. Once you are at the Willow Cove Day Use Parking lot. Find the 2 Brown Posts that once held a sign at the edge of the parking lot. There is a trail just to right of the post follow this trail (towards the lake) Stay to the left when you reach a fork in the road. (if you look up on your left side you will see an old tree trunk jetting out almost above you). Keep going on the trail, next you should see a creek, cross the creek and stay on the trail to right. After walking a short distance you will come to a clearing in the trail area. Look ahead and you should see 3 trees growing in a triangle. Before you reach the triangle of trees there is a trail going off to the left (down to the waters edge). Do you see a giant oak tree (left of this new trail)? This giant oak as a large growth on its side (looks like a boil on its right side) look inside the bark of this tree and you should find the letterbox. Please be discrete as there are many people around especially in the summer months. Place the letterbox back in a safe manner so others can enjoy it. Thank you and have fun!
