~This stamp was once used as a one day only personal traveler. It now has a permanent home in Lebanon.

You will need may colored markers to achieve the look in the log book. If you decide to do it all one color, PLEASE use a light color so that others after you will have the option of doing it either way.

From route 32 in South Windham, turn onto Machine Shop Hill Road. Go straight through the first stop sign and then make a left immediately after the fire department onto Pigeon Swamp Road. Follow this to the end and you will see a parking area with a sign stating it is Pigeon Swamp Preserve. Park here.

Dogs are allowed, even off-leash, as long as they are under their owner's voice control.

Start out by heading South on the yellow trail through a very nice stone wall. Cross through another stone wall. When you come to your first intersection, bear left.

Walk along and you will come to a pretty water view walk. Continue on. At your next intersection, bear right, uphill, on yellow. You will see a brook off to your left.

Very soon the trail will go away from the brook.

You will come to a small "gully". Once you are on the other side, stop next to the pile of rocks on your right.

From here, count 17 steps and stop.

Look left to see a two sister, yellow Birch tree.

Look on the backside of this tree, under leaves and rock, to find your prize.

You can either retrace your steps,

OR

continue on to the next intersection where you will need to bear right (4/19/09-on blue).

Then, at the next intersection bear left (4/19/09-on yellow) and very quickly you will be at your car.

Enjoy your time in the woods.
