LONG POND
(Wellfleet)
General Information:
This 34-acre natural great pond has an average depth of 16 feet and a maximum depth of 50
feet. Transparency is very good, the bottom is composed primarily of sand, and aquatic
vegetation is scarce.
The pond is located less than a mile east of Route 6 and south of Gull Pond. A town landing and beach suitable for launching car top boats and canoes provide access.

To get there, take
Long Pond Road from Route 6. The access is located on the northwestern end of the pond just off Long Pond Road.

Route 6 in Wellfleet head for LeCount Hollow/Marguire Landing. Take left on Ocean View Drive. First Left past Cahoon Hollow Road. (A right on Calhoon Hallow Road leads you to the Beachcomber!!) At the town parking lot proceed to stairs. Three landings down between the next two steps on the left leading to the water you will find the hidden orange. What could be better for you on a sunny day!!?

If it's not there look around as kids play with things!

This pond was reclaimed in 1954 and 1965. Following the last reclamation it was restocked th chain pickerel, golden shiners and alewives.

Fish Populations:
No recent fisheries surveys have been conducted on this pond. No fisheries data is available.

Fishing:
This pond is acidified. While pickerel are presumably still present, growth rates and reproduction are undoubtedly affected and the pond cannot be expected to provide much in the way of fishing action.

Hope this box is still intact. Please notify if not. Thanks.
