Mount Sinai is a destination for many travelers visiting Egypt.

We suggest taking the camel ride up and hiking down, however, camels down is always an option.
Elevation change is 2,060 feet and the camels take you up 1,570 feet to within 490 feet of the summit. From there you are hiking.

Sunrise at the summit is a magnificent sight described by many as a life altering experience.

Clues

The Mount Sinai Letterbox is located part way on your journey near the fairly major refreshment and souvenir/trinket building. There are a few other minor water/refreshment huts on the mountain but you are looking for the largest one.

Once you have located the refreshment/souvenir stand, look uphill beyond the green arrows.

About 15 feet uphill there is a rock wall.

Go around the left end of the rock wall.

Go uphill diagonally about 12 feet along the back of the rock wall.

The Mount Sinai Letterbox is located under some small rocks under a larger rock.

Once you have found the Mount Sinai Letterbox and signed in, thank you for replacing the Letterbox to ensure the integrity of its hiding place.

Please ensure that there are sufficient stones protecting the Letterbox so that it is well protected from the weather and the view of passersby. Thank you.

We hope you enjoy the hike and the fabulous experience and scenery in your quest for the Mount Sinai Letterbox.

Please contact us by email at peter@brill.ca to let us know you found this box and the condition it is in, plus any other comments you may have. We look forward to hearing from you.

Happy Letterboxing!
