Welcome to Z’s Box. This box is one of several placed at Watkins Mill Lake Trail, located between Lawson to the north and Excelsior Springs to the south. Z’s box is located on the northeastern side of the trail. If you are visiting Elmo’s Box you can continue north on the trail to the northern most steel and wooden bridge. Following this path you will cover about half of the trail, plan about 45 minutes to do both. For a shorter version begin at the northern most parking lot the access’ the northern trail entrance. From there follow the foot trail to the main walking path, when they intersect turn east to cross over the steel and wooden bridge. Once you are across the bridge go 115 foot falls to a culvert, it begins a curve, there will be another culvert shortly after the first one. As you continue on the path you will notice that the creek on the west side of you will bend and there will be a park “clue” stake on the east. Go 80 foot falls to a stone/rock culvert on the west side, then continue another 150 foot falls to a large leaning hickory on the west side of the path and a large deadfall on the east side. From this point continue 56 footfalls past a hickory on the west in a V and then look for a group of 4 hickory trees on the west grouped tightly together, look to the east up about 11 footfalls for a stump. Z’s Box is located inside of the hollow of the stump. This journey is representative of Z and his family, Z, a gift from God ,came to his parents, J and J after a steadfast journey to have a child to love of their own, through many prayers, faith in God and the Love of another family Z celebrates his first birthday nestled in Grace and Love. Please take special care with this special little boys box!
