Andrews, TX is mainly noted for oil production and the site of a low level radioactive waste disposal site. However, a little-known fact is that in 1972, it became the site of the first Kirby vacuum cleaner factory outside of the original Kirby location in Ohio. The Andrews site became known as Kirby West and can be found at the corner of Hwy. 385 (Main St.) and Mustang.
To the box: Enter the Old Cemetery at Broadway and 13th. Then take the driveway on the right. Look for the first tall conical cypress on the right, close to the wall. Look on WSW side of the tree, about 1 foot off the ground. In camo baggie, velcroed to a branch. Watch out for the cemetery maintenance people.
