Seminole, TX is known for its production of oil, cotton, and peanuts. It is the birthplace of Country music singers Larry Gatlin and Tanya Tucker. Legendary radio talk-show queen Randi Rhodes got her start in Seminole. The name of Seminole may have come from the presence of Indian scouts during campaigns against the Seminoles. Another story is that it is named for nearby Indian watering places.
To the box: From Hwy. 385, on the south side of town, go southwest on SW Ave. G. At the stop sign, turn left onto 11th St. You will come to another stop sign, at the intersection of the Frankel City Highway. Continue straight through this intersection, crossing the highway. 11th turns into CR 301 at this point. Cemetery is ahead on the left.
Enter cemetery and take the 2nd paved road to the right. You should be headed straight toward a building with a cross on it. Look for 4 juniper bushes on your left. Park. Find the headstone for Robinson, flanked by 2 angels and the juniper bushes. Look about head height in juniper above wingtips of northernmost angel. Camo baggie is velcroed onto a branch of the juniper.
