Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Letterbox: 50 yards one way
STATUS OF LETTERBOX: BOX reported Missing - Oct 2022
The "L/C - Missouri River" letterbox is placed in Lewis and Clark State Park near Kansas City, MO. Lewis and Clark visited this area, noting the oxbow lake close by in their journals. Today the park has camping, picnic area, and fishing.
Directions:
From Kansas City, take I-29 north to Hwy 92. Go west on 92 to Hwy 45. North on 45 to Hwy 138, then west to the park. Once in the park, drive past the campground and park in the 1st lot on your right (across from the Park Office).
To the Letterbox:
Walk south around and behind the Park office to a large cottonwood tree near the creek. The box is at the base of this tree, covered with bark and rocks. Be sure to re-cover well since this is an exposed area. Now find Silver Eagle's box just down the road.
