Drive to the city of Columbia in the heart of Maury County. You can start by taking a loop around courthouse square just for the fun of it if you like. Its one of the nicest town squares in the state. You'll want to exit on W. 7th Street and head west about 2 blocks.

On the left hand side you'll come to the childhood home of our 11th president of the united states, James K. Polk. Park in visitors parking if you can find a spot. Walk west on w. 7th until you come to the house directly next door which is the polk visitors center.

Walk just beyond the visitors center to the iron gate entrance, enter, then follow the path to the gardens. In the first garden there are 4 statues that represent the seasons of the year. Walk to the right corner (southwest corner)of the garden and spot the iron bench. If you are sitting on the bench, look to your right. The box will be waiting for you at the base of the bush in the ivy. (please rehide this one carefully, not alot of room for error).

Take the box to the bench and have a seat if you like. If you do you should be pretty well shielded from the view of both the visitors center and the Polk house.

If you are a history buff, take in the museum tour. Have fun in the gardens. If you feel like walking you can continue up a few blocks to "3 cheers for Geers".
