**There was 1 report of an attempted find of this box. Needless to say, it did not end with a find. I haven't had a chance to get up there and check on it, but I will soon. In the meantime, feel free to go look, it's a great hike**

This is a transcript of a phone conversation that took place on the morning of March 21st in the Year 2009.

BuffaloTony: Hey.
A Waddle of Lewaii: Hey. You guys want to go hiking today?
BT: Sure.
AWOL: Great.... Where?
BT: I don't know. Altadena?
AWOL: Nah, I don't feel like going all the way over there today.
BT: What about Malibu Creek?
AWOL: No we're going there tomorrow.
BT: Well then where?
AWOL: Well, we're going into Studio City to buy some new hiking shoes from Big 5.
BT: The one on Ventura Place?
AWOL: exactly. Are there any good hikes around there?
BT: I'm not sure. I'll check a map.
AWOL: Oh! I know.
BT: What do you know?
AWOL: We can all go to Fryman Canyon.
BT: Fryman Canyon?
AWOL: Yeah, Fryman Canyon. It's this really cool section of the Santa Monica Mountains that forms a really nice loop, something like 3 miles, right in Studio City off of Laurel Canyon.
BT: How do you get there?
AWOL: Head north from Ventura Blvd on Laurel Canyon and take a right onto Fryman Road. The entrance will be on your righthand side. Just don't forget to bring $3 for parking, they do check.
BT: Got it. So what will we do once we get there?
AWOL: I think we should walk up the start of the trail and keep going until we see a trash can on our righthand side.
BT: A Trash can?
AWOL: It's for dog poop. Around this time the paved trail will turn to dirt and it will level out a little bit.
BT: Great. Then where do we go?
AWOL: Well we could just follow it all the way to the water fountains, but I think we should take a detour. After the trash can walk for .8 miles. Around this time the trail should take a really sharp turn to the left. In front of this turn you'll have an amazing view so stop for a second and just look onward. On the left side of the trail will be a smaller trail heading up a steep incline.
BT: You want us to go up there?
AWOL: It will be fine, trust me. I'm taking you to a great spot. You should bring your homemade cigarbox guitar and play a little ditty.
BT: Got it. So I'm going to go up Up UP!.. then what?
AWOL: You'll see some offshoots of the trail, make sure to stay to the left and it will start to go down. When that trail dead-ends, go to the right. This will bring you to the OCTOPUS-TREE!
BT: The octopus tree? As in a tree that grows octopi?
AWOL: Duh, no. You'll know why when you get there. If you get there before me just put your cigarbox guitar in the mouth of the octopus tree and cover it with some leaves and then rocks.
BT: Is that a heavily walked trail?
AWOL: It is not as bad as the main one, but there could definitely be people there. Just be careful.
BT: I certainly will. I'll meet you there.
AWOL: Awesome. When we're done, we can keep heading in the same direction as we were when we came to the octopus-tree, and make our way to the water fountains. Then if we keep going we'll leave the park for a loop back to our cars. Or we can go back the way we came. Either way, we'll get in about a 3 mile hike.
BT: Sounds good to me. I'm hanging up now.
AWOL: Me too. Bye.
