6/23/2008 The box was found in a pretty poor condition. The finder had to triple bag the stamp and logbook. If you are going for this one could you please take a container with you.
From I. 80 north of Green River, Wyoming turn north on exit 83 (La Barge Rd.) Highway 372. Check your odometer, as you will be driving 18.4 miles north. At 18.4 miles you will see 4 ft. high concrete markers on both sides of the highway and what appears to be a dirt road. After parking your car walk to where the dirt road intersects the highway. Walk 44 paces at 200 degrees to the concrete marker. Set your compass on top of the marker and take a heading to 270 degrees. At 90 paces at 270 degrees you should find a small rock cairn, and 5 more paces you will find another rock cairn under a bush. You will note that rocks in this area are somewhat scarce. The letterbox is hidden under the second of the two Cairns. If you have forgotten your compass don't fret just look for the line of rocks and they should point the way. This marker notes that this trail is The Oregon trail, California Trail, Mormon Trail, and the route for the Pony Express.
When researching our clues please be aware that when previous searchers list “ATTEMPTED” on the clue sheets it may reflect more on their abilities as finders than indicate whether the box is viable or not. We do monitor our clues and boxes pretty well and appreciate the notes written to us by those that find or attempt our letterboxes.
