UPDATE: I was informed that the box is in place with only the logbook in it. I guess the stamp is missing :o( hopefully its not vandals and someone just accidently snagged the stamp along with their letterboxing stuff.

Shore Acres Botanical Gardens
To get to Shore acres drive through coos bay and to Charleston (a tiny wannabe town in on the outskirts of coos bay) or you can just follow all the signs pointing there, its pretty easy to find.
Once there, walk to the observatory ahead of the parking lot. In front of it is a stone wall (so brainless people and small animals dont fall off the cliff). Follow this wall to your right and follow the path that leads along it. At its end is a wooden bench and some real neat looking trees. To your right are two wooden signs, One saying "Shore Acres", and "Tennis Courts". There are no tennis courts. Follow the broken pavement by this sign that apparently were tennis courts many years ago but im sure people got sick of chasing wayward tennis balls off the ocean cliffs. Look to your right and you will see a VERY large uprooted tree, probably 15-20 feet high. (although im bad at estimating). The whole roots of this tree are facing the ocean and its really obvious. Walk up to the tree and you will find the letterbox hidden at the base of it on the far right side, covered by a big flat oval rock.
Oh! And dont forget to enjoy the view! :o)
P.S. Shore acres is a national park therefore there is a $3 fee for a parking permit upon entering. (which can be avoided by parking outside the shore acres park, its a short walk)
