On Kansas Highway 56/156 find your way to Pawnee Rock State Historical Park. This rock used to tower far above the Kansas prarie and was a lookout spot for native Americans. The history surrounding this place is interesting and worth reading about. According to one local school teacher, it was known as the bloodiest spot on the Sante Fe Trail. Of course, that was quite a few years ago, so your visit now should be safe if you watch your step.

After you enter the gates to the park, turn right on the paved path. After you pass the rock and the bunch of evergreen trees you will see four deciduous trees in a row going uphill. Inside the base of the second tree is a well covered "box". Pllease enjoy the box and the site, but make sure you carefully and unobtrusively cover the box so the diligent groundskeepers don't stumble upon it.

Enjoy our box.
