***Temporarily out of service for repairs Oct 26 '09. Will replace the ink pad and find a drier spot soon.***

The most famous labyrinth was on the Greek isle of Crete at Knossos. It was a place where "the youths and maidens of marriageable age would hold hands and dance through the seven circuits of the labyrinth".
It is also said that the typical seven circuit labyrinth was engraved on Achilles' shield.
You can see one of these deceptively simple paths right here in Sonoma county!
From downtown Petaluma head west on Washington St. When you pass the 7-11 on the right start looking for Park Ave on the right (about 3 blocks).
Turn right on Park Ave and head up the hill to the parking area on your left.
Follow the path to the playground equipment. Facing the playground, look to your left. About 80 yards to your left you will see a white gate. The labyrinth is beyond the gate.
Past the labyrinth, on the side of the hill, and to the right of the stone steps, is a large tree.
The box is in a knothole, head-high, on the downhill side of the tree trunk.
Watch for star thistle!
When you replace the box, please, remember to cover it well with leaf litter.
Enjoy!
