This letterbox is placed in a strange little oasis near one of Bear Canyon arroyo's flood control constructions. We saw mallards, jack rabbits, mourning doves. and a very noisy cooper's hawk.

From I-25 take the Jefferson exit and head north on Jefferson. Just before the Holman's on a blind curve take a left (west) on Jefferson Plaza road. Pass the Girl Scout council and park at the end of the road where it makes a circle. Take the paved path along the arroyo west until you cross a concrete drainage ditch. See the man-made oval, with or without water and an island in it. See the black basalt rocks on the oval's west end. Walk to them and find the suspicious pile of rocks.

From I-25: You can also exit at Osuna and take Jefferson south.

Easy plant, 1/4 mile walk, secluded, industrial location so bring a buddy.
