This box is our 1st in what we hope to be a series of fly-in letterboxes. If you don't fly (as I assume most of you do not) they will still be accessible by ground. Go to www.wingsofhistory.org to figure out where this wonderful air museum is. It is open Saturdays and Sundays 11am to 4 pm but you do not need to visit the museum to get this box.

The museum will be hosting their annual open house the weekend of May 16th and May 17th 2009. If you love airplanes this is must do event. Bring the kids... The Young Eagles Program will be giving FREE airplane rides to kids ages 8 to 17 with the permission of parents or guardians. They will also have hot air balloons in the morning (weather permitting) for a fee. There will be formation flyovers, radio controlled aircraft, and free admission to the air museum. My hubby may be running the flight simulator again this year. Depends on his travel schedule. I'll update this right before the open house so you can stop and say hello if he is working it.

Now for the box: Bring a light blue ink pad and a black, medium blue and red marker for best results. Your log book will need to be a minimum of 2"x 3" to fit this stamp. When you get to the museum, stand at the propeller at the road. Face the building with the sign that reads, " Wings of History Air Museum. Walk to the front right hand corner of the building. Go in between the 1st and 2nd bush. Look under the 1st one, near the corner of the building. Please be stealthy as this box could be spotted if someone wandered back there to see what you are doing.

I suggest getting the box on a day other than the day of the open house because there will be so many people milling around, but definetly go back and check out the open house. It is always a lot of fun.
