Easy, flat route
About 35 mins one way on trail.
Take Rt 511 (Ringwood Avenue) to the North Parking lot at Monksville Reservoir. When you turn in to the parking lot, you'll see a large wooden sign that says LongPond Ironworks on it. The trail starts at the end of the parking lot.
Take the white trail to the end where there's the first set of powerlines. At this point, take a left and head about 20 feet up to the gravel road/trail. Follow this to the second set of power lines. The trail will split. Stay left on the gravel trail/road. Follow it to the end. When you come out to the clearing on the point, look left and you'll see 2 cedar trees. Go off trail and stand with one on either side and look straight. You'll see a large rock jutting out of the ground. Walk toward it and around the back side. The box is nestled in a 'hole' in the rock.
