This box is part of the 45th Parallel Series, an attempt to place letterboxes all along the mysterious invisible line which runs around the earth half-way between the North Pole and the Equator.

At the Montana/Wyoming state line on US Highway 310, a stream flows under the road. This is either Sage Creek or an irrigation-related diversion channel associated with Sage Creek. Park in the gravelled area just north and east of the bridge. Make your way safely south across the bridge and jump the guard rail to the east. Follow the fenceline southeast past the utility box to the first large sagebrush plant. The letterbox is a wide-mouthed, clear plastic, half-gallon jar with a white plastic lid. It is concealed at the base of the sagebrush. To avoid observation, which may compromise the box's security, please wait for breaks in highway traffic to retrieve and reconceal the box.
