"DEAR EDITOR: I am 8 years old.
Some of my little friends say there are no such thing as sausage races.
Vater says, 'If you see it in Die Sonne it's so.'
Please tell me the truth; are there sausage races?

Ute Braun"

Ute, your little friends are wrong. Yes, Ute, they race sausages in Milwaukee. The races go on as certainly as baseball players swing their bats every spring while fans munch on peanuts. Alas! How deadly serious would be the world if there were no sausage races. It would be as dreary as if there were no Utes.

No Racing Sausages! Thank God Brett Wurst, Stosh, Guido, Frankie Furter and Cinco race in Milwaukee! A thousand years from now, Ute, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, may the racing sausages continue to make glad the heart of Milwaukee baseball!
