***** Down for maintenance *****

The Sebastopol Goose is a European type goose with long curly feathers and compromised sinuses. They fly poorly and in German are known as struppgans, meaning "unkempt goose.”

Geez, I hope no one ever calls me struppgans.

To locate the Sebastopol Goose Letterbox find Ragle Ranch Regional Park in Sebastopol. Walk in for nothing or drive in for $6. Then proceed to a particularly peaceful spot and locate the two standing stones. From the standing stones look west and in the distance spy an informational board. Make your way there. Now hit the trail behind the sign. Almost immediately, within the first 10 feet or so you have the option to take a side trail to the northwest. Do so. Continue on that path until you cross the first bridge. Continue until you cross the second bridge. Now stop and back up. Under the south corner of the bridge on an earthen ledge will be the Sebastopol Goose Letterbox. When I left the box I covered it with straw from nearby since you can see the box if you look carefully from above and between the boards.

Please close everything up tightly before you leave as this is a damp spot in a boggy area.

Thanks for coming!
