This letterbox is hidden at Puffer's Pond in north Amherst, MA. From the Mill River/Puffer's Pond parking area across from the corner of Mill Rd. and Summer St., walk back toward State St. and the bridge marked with a yellow "Narrow Bridge" sign. You'll pass some very cool stacked rock sculptures on the left side of the road before reaching the waterfall. Just before you reach the bridge, enter the waterfall trail between the wooden fence and the boulder. Walk 10 feet until you see a tree on the left shaped like a backwards "L" (or a goose with a very very long neck). The letterbox is hidden in a hole inside the trunk and covered with wood chips and leaves. This is a popular spot, so be discreet at please cover the box with leaves and twigs when you replace it! We plan for this to be the first box in a "Big Band" series around the pond, so check back soon for new boxes in the series!
