These boxes are placed in the Charlotte Park and Wildlife Refuge. It is located on N. Greenbush Rd in Charlotte. This is very nice kid friendly hike with great lake views. Click here for directions.

NOTE: Dogs are not allowed on these trails.

Follow Roberts Way (the main trail) from the parking lot about 3/4 mile to the intersection of Byington Trail. Along the way you will cross several plank walkways including a long one that winds uphill! There are also two bridge crossings. Be sure to keep your eyes open for any animals you may see on your way.

Box #1:

From the intersection of Roberts Way and Byington Trail take a right turn onto Byington.

Look for a tree with large bumpy growths on the right.

Near here is a large stump from an old tree. Look under this stump. If you pass trail marker #9, then you have gone too far.

Box #2:

Continue past box #1 up Byington Trail.

Follow the trail to a large hay field. Look for a large 3 limbed dead tree. Take a right on Turkey Lane which is right next to this tree. This turn is currently unsigned.

Walk 20 steps down Turkey Lane.

Look left for a scraggly bush with 4 leaders. If you get to the bridge then you have gone too far. Near the base of this bush is the second box.

If you have time and the energy, return to Byington Trail and continue up the trail for the Lake view. This will circle back to Roberts Way.
