"This box represents how Mr.Scary and Captain Krista met. Their first date took place over coffee. They have been together since March 18th 2008. Mr. Scary and Captain Krista have since gone their separate ways, but the box still remains as a reminder of what they once had."

Located in Echo Lake Park
From Rt 8 North take exit 37. Take a left off the exit. Go straight through two stop lights. Continue straight. Ice house Rd. will be on your left. Turn down Ice house Rd. On the right you will see a gazebo. Shortly after the gazebo you will see the entrance to Echo Lake Park on your right.
If you type Echo Lake Park into Google it will say Oakville. It's the same place.
Ste 37 166 Ice House Rd. Oakville, CT 06779

Park in the parking lot so you are facing the lake. Cross over the wood fence. When facing, the lake walk around it to the left so that the lake is on your right. When you're facing the woods you will see the entrance to the trail on the right. This is about a 10 minute walk from the head of the trail to the box.
You will pass a bench to your left.
Follow down the trail until you reach a bridge. Cross the bridge and continue.
You will then see a large rock with graffiti and a G clef painted on the front of it (lake side of rock). Go to the left of the rock. Continue straight.
Directly after the large rock you will see a rock wall on your left. Walk towards it. Follow down the rock wall so that it is on your left. Stop when you see a cluster of rocks to your right with a large fallen tree in front of them. Look to your left. You should see a slanted rock leaning against another rock. Move the rock and thick branch that sits between them. Between and underneath the rocks you will find your prize.
Replace the rock and cover back up with leaves when you are finished.

*UPDATE 6/3/2011* I checked on my box today. It seems that they have greatly cleaned and maintained the area since I was there on Halloween. It is now safe and kid friendly. Please enjoy and hunt safely! :)

Pssst...there is also a pretty nifty geocache nearby as well.
