If you could take along an extra bag so the book can be double-bagged again I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Luther Burbank was a busy fellow what with the over 800 strains and varieties of plants he developed during his 55 year career. He had the fancy house in Santa Rosa, and then he had the roomier working property on the periphery of Sebastopol: Luther Burbank’s Gold Ridge Experiment Farm.

Go here for more info:

Note: If you’re less than five feet tall take a taller person with you for the minor grunt work.

Head out there, 7781 Bodega Avenue. It’s slightly confusing as it is tangled up in a senior housing project which is 7777. So just head on up there and refuse to become confused. Once there park and find one of the free brochure/maps and locate #25, the Japanese Persimmon. Stand directly in front of the number looking straight ahead at the large oak tree approximately 21 steps away. Reach up into the bowl of the tree maybe 5 feet up and under leaf litter for the Experimental Persimmon Letterbox.

OK, thanks for coming and please be discrete if one of the pesky volunteers is nearby. Also, watch out for a nice 90 year old geezer on a red bike who likes to talk and may be hanging about. He says his brother used to work for Luther and he has an unending number of tales.

Also, close everything up tightly.
