When first faced with a new Atlas Quest, I was at a loss as to how to easily find things that I wanted and was told to use a widget.. A widget? says I, what is a widget? Webster says it’s a gadget, an unnamed article for purpose of hypothetical example. This was no help to me so I turned to letterboxers to get me out of this dilemma. One such heroine from N.H. came to my rescue and all became clear. Thanks uneksia (smile). This is my hypothetical example of the now familiar widget.

On route I-84 west bound between exit’s 70 and 69 there’s a very nice rest area. Pull in and park in car parking.

After leaving your car, go to the left of the building and find the sign that says Cole W Wilde Trout Management Area. Go downhill, through the gate and turn left on the fisherman’s trail. Go over a wooden bridge and watch for twin trees on the right with a 10 foot stump between them. There’s an ice burg rock on the left off trail a bit (if you come to fence at the edge of the trail, you went too far). From here site 160 degrees, take 27 steps to find the box under a rock between two trees (one is smaller).

Feel free to draw your image of a widget in the log book.
Don’t look for this box if fishermen are in sight.
