Take route 168 west (yes, I’m sure it’s west :-) out of Suffield and turn left onto Phelps Road. Park immediately (on the left or the right) in the dirt pull off.
Head south on the blue blazed Metacomet Trail. At first the trail is a good heart pumping up but it soon levels out. After walking eight tenths of a mile you will see a sign for The George A Harmon Woodlot on the left. Directly opposite this is an orange blazed trail with a sign for Deer Run Trail, Suffield Land Conservancy. Go left, heading downhill until you see a large layered mushroom like boulder several feet off trail on the left. Look behind a trap door on the left back corner of the mushroom.
Continue on (still downhill) until you come to a split boulder on the left, almost on the trail. Look in a crevice in the back of it, under debris.
For Suffield residents, you may access these boxes from Sunrise Park on Mountain Road but you must have a town sticker to park there. This is a good time to befriend Suffield boxers.
