|Placed Date||May 23 2009|
Location : Atlanta State Park
Directions : Take HWY 59 North to Atlanta
Harvestmen are plentiful here at the park. Considered an arachnid, it is not a spider. Also
known as Daddy Long-Legs, these creatures are harmless despite their foreboding appear-
ance. Come visit one of the restrooms to get a good look at these creepy crawlers!
Clues : Enter the park, pay fee and turn right towards the Hickory Hollow Nature Trail.
Park at trail entrance and meander down the nature trail. At the trail junction, follow
the Interpretive Trail sign to the right. Follow this trail until you come to
a wooden foot bridge. From the end of the bridge, walk 48 paces until you see a very
large pine tree on your left. Continue from the tree another 20 paces. Look for a double
trunked maple tree on your right about 20 paces up a small hill. The letterbox is hidden
under a rock to the left of the tree trunk. Please cover and re-hide well.
