Time: <10 minutes
Terrain: Easy, except a steep hill in the beginning
Difficulty: Easy

This box is dedicated to Sonia, who is graduating from Marlborough High School class of 2009.

The Painted Rock is on the Marlborough/Hudson line near Assabet Valley Regional High School on Rt. 85.

This rock is painted by anyone, mostly students from Marlborough and Hudson High Schools. The rock is used to celebrate birthdays, remember deaths, glorify team victories and continue the Marlborough/Hudson rivalry.

When you get to the rock, stand directly in front of it and admire the current artwork. Climb to the top, above the rock (carefully, it is very steep). With your back now to the rock, look directly in front of you into the woods. About 50 feet ahead there should be a tree with 3 thick trunks. The letterbox is nestled between the three trunks, under some dirt, leaves, and sticks. Replace very carefully, as there are a lot of high school kids who walk by this spot.

There is no stamp pad or pen in this box, you will need to bring your own.

Enjoy!
