Twins, Saint Scholastica & Saint Benedict were born in Italy 480AD. They were inseparable and spent there days climbing trees and running through the hillsides. A time came when they forced to separate. Proper young women were sent to learn at a local convent and young men of nobility were to attend school in Rome. Benedict was troubled by the corruption he saw in the city of Rome and left his schooling to travel spreading the word of God. The two missed each other deeply and prayed daily that someday they’d be reunited. Benedict performed many miracles & founded the Benedictine order . Scholastica founded the first Benedictine convent just 5 miles away. When they died they were buried in the same tomb. They are the patron saints of school children. Ahh, if I had a dime for every "Please help me pass this test and I promise to study harder next time!" prayer sent there way! Haha!
Take 171 west. Turn right onto Roseland Park Rd. Watch for the sign for Roseland Park on the right. Turn in. Go past the first right turn. Take the next past playground. Park anywhere along here. Follow this road to the end. Turn right and walk to the poles where it is posted "No vehicles pass this point" Here turn left and walk 13 paces to a tree that is split in 1/2. Real low inside the tree you will find Benedict & Scholastica.
