The following letterbox is part of the GO York "Get Outdoors and Be Creative!" program. It will only be available between June 6, 2009 and September 7, 2009. To participate in the program, please pick up your official "Get Outdoors and Be Creative! Sketch Book at any York County library.

In addition, this program uses creativity stations - a wooden marker post with an engraved plate on it - instead of a traditional letterbox. Please make sure to have a crayon with you to carefully rub the picture in your Sketch Book. Further information about the "Get Outdoors and Be Creative!" program may be found at www.goyork.org.

This creativity station is located at York County Heritage Trust Agricultural and Industrial Museum (York City). Responses to all underlined areas are needed to obtain the rubbing. GO York Kids level of difficulty = 1

1. When you arrive and before entering the building, make note of the name of the company that was originally housed in this building. ______________
2. Check in at the reception desk and pick up a map of the museum. It will help you find your way.
3. Enter the transportation exhibit and find the “cheapest car in the world.” Where was it made? ______________
4. Come down the ramp and the stairs. Notice the old fashioned bicycles on your right. In the old days, riders used to tip over on one of these bikes. Which one do you think it was? _______________
5. Turn left and walk through the large entryway. On your left will be the Bradley Grist Mill. You may ask someone at the front desk to show you how it works, if you’d like. Find the object that looks like a big green watermelon located in this room. What was its purpose? _______________
6. Go to the “Hall of Giants” and find something that kept things cool like the “watermelon.” _______________
7. If you visit the D.F. Stauffer Biscuit Company exhibit on the second floor of the Hall of Giants and eat some sweets, it will be important to brush your teeth afterwards. Find the strongest teeth in the world. Brushing at least two times a day will help you to avoid what tool located just inside the doorway of this Local Industry 1 exhibit? _______________
8. Locate the plows in the same room as the “watermelon.” Find the piece of equipment near the plows that is used to play Christmas music in York. What is it? _______________
9. You’re soon finished with your work here. Go up the stairs to the Local Industry 2 exhibit. Name two York County companies and the creative skills they used to develop their business. ______________________________
10. A York County man helped to train one of the strongest men in the world. Who was the trainer? _________________________ What award did the strong man win? ___________________________
11. Check out the time clock in this room and follow the bus to the reception desk to get your rubbing. Thanks for visiting the Museum.
