The following letterbox is part of the GO York "Get Outdoors and Be Creative!" program. It will only be available between June 6, 2009 and September 7, 2009. To participate in the program, please pick up your official "Get Outdoors and Be Creative! Sketch Book at any York County library.
In addition, this program uses creativity stations - a wooden marker post with an engraved plate on it - instead of a traditional letterbox. Please make sure to have a crayon with you to carefully rub the picture in your Sketch Book. Further information about the "Get Outdoors and Be Creative!" program may be found at www.goyork.org.
This creativity station is located at Veterans Memorial Park (York City). GO York Kids level of difficulty = 2
1. Start at the entrance of the York City Ice Skating Arena
2. Locate and walk toward the green ticket booth
3. Next, walk toward the tan storage shed
4. Then, locate the pavilion across the parking lot—walk to it.
5. Once you are at the pavilion, look in the distance to your left and find a set of old wooden bleachers by a baseball field—walk to them.
6. When you reach the blue shed, turn left and follow the overhead power line on your left.
7. After you pass the first telephone pole, look for the tree with two metal posts. The creativity station is nearby.
