The following letterbox is part of the GO York "Get Outdoors and Be Creative!" program. It will only be available between June 6, 2009 and September 7, 2009. To participate in the program, please pick up your official "Get Outdoors and Be Creative! Sketch Book at any York County library.
In addition, this program uses creativity stations - a wooden marker post with an engraved plate on it - instead of a traditional letterbox. Please make sure to have a crayon with you to carefully rub the picture in your Sketch Book. Further information about the "Get Outdoors and Be Creative!" program may be found at www.goyork.org.
This creativity station is located at York Township Park. GO York Kids level of difficulty = 2
1. Begin your walk at the parking lot near the playground
2. Walk carefully alongside the main driveway back toward the police station and look for a paved path/road on your left.
3. Walk down the paved path/road until you reach the “Y”. Continue to your right toward the York Township Lions Club pavilion.
4. Stand in the playground area and look down the grassy hill.
5. Walk down the hill and cross over the small bridge with the wooden planks. You should be heading toward a metal bench.
6. At the metal bench, turn left onto the gravel path and follow it downhill.
7. When this path makes an S turn and enters the woods, continue about 20 adult paces on the grass.
8. You will find the creativity station along the tree line nearby.
