The Love Birds Letterbox is very family friendly! It's great for bikes, strollers, wagons and a fun place to explore! It's beautiful in the spring and fall, if you go in the summer make sure you have lots of bug spray!
Clues:
Heading out of Chaska just past the river on Hwy 41 look for a sign 11901 and turn left into the State Trail area. Park in the parking and enter the woods via the paved trail.
You will come to a big rock and a fork in the trail go right and continue down the trail. You will know your going the right way when you see the following landmarks.
-A Giant "spider" tree on the right side of trail
-Cross a creek
-A pond on the left with a scary dead tree
-On the right hand side of the trail, an open space with rocks on top
-Chain link fences guarding both sides of the trail
At the top of the hill you will come to a T, take the path that is blocked with rocks. Once the Asphalt ends continue down the well worn dirt trail to the river. Look for a large flat rock on the right side of the trail. From this rock continue on 15 paces. From this point the letterbox is to your right straight up into the woods hidden amongst the rocks.
Enjoy the beautiful view of the Minnesota River!!
