NOTE: Though listed separately, this box is included in sort of a series- 5 letterboxes on a 5 mile stretch of Rt1 East- if you did them in order:
Wilbur's Re-tired Friend
The story behind this letterbox is a funny one. I was driving past this park, scoping out potential letterboxes late last Fall and noticed this oddity in the park. You will see what I mean when you see the stamp and compare it to what you currently see in the park. It made me laugh so I photographed it and made it into a letterbox. Hope you smile too. Hee-hee, a little bit of mystery to this box!
This box is located approx3.3miles East from the intersection of Rt182 and Rt1. (approx. 3.2 miles East from Wilbur's re-tired friend letterbox). After the Hancock Post Office on your right, you will see a small park with a monument and gazebo on your right. Look for the white fence across the road. The letterbox is located behind the fence post at the end of a white fence nearest the Bait Shop.
