If you're driving the long stretch of I-70 between Green River and Salina, you may appreciate this opportunity to get out and stretch your legs at Exit 86. There is a rest stop on the south side of the freeway (accessible from either direction). Start at this rest stop.

From the parking lot, find the rest rooms. Chances are, you'll need to stop there first.

Facing the rest rooms, look to each side. You should see covered picnic tables on each side. Walk to the tables on the left (west) side.

From the picnic tables, look at the area behind the restroom building. You're looking for a shortish metal tower supported by 3 cables wrapped in orange (so that Uncle Buck doesn't accidentally run into them).

Go to the tower and stand between the restrooms and the cable pointing toward the restrooms. Look toward the tower. Draw an imaginary line from the tower through the cable on your right.

Follow that imaginary line until you come to a very short stump. Look back toward the restroom. If you see 2 other stumps directly in line with the stump you're standing on, you're in the right place. If not, look for three stumps in a row and stand on the one farthest from the restroom.

Draw an imaginary line through the three stumps away from the restroom. The line points directly to a 2-3 foot high stump with a broken part of a tree bent parallel with the ground behind. Uncle Buck is trapped behind the stump, under the bent stump and a few rocks.
