#11 Hawaii
by CW Sun Seeker
Hopkins Road
Ellington
(stamp size 2 x 1 1 /2)
From route 140 in Ellington (1.3 miles east of route 83) turn northwest onto Hopkins Road for 150 yards where there is limited parking. The Shenipsit Trail enters on the right.
Please bring any solid color with you.
A short walk on a pretty level, wide trail blazed in the traditional blue. After about ten minutes you’ll see a large rock on the left with a trail crossing just after it. This trail is marked with a white circle low on the trees. These trails are used by a local running club. Turn left on this white trail to a large pile of rocks on the right. Behind these rocks is a smaller pile with a birch tree growing out of them. Look in the back of the roots of the birch for the handy Hawaii letterbox by CW Sun Seeker.
