{{Replanted 7/1/09}}

Make your way to Walker’s Reservoir in Vernon.Exit 67 off of I-84 E. At the bottom of the ramp, go right. Take your first right on to Reservoir Rd. Park in the parking lot of Walker’s Reservoir.

Please bring black ink with you for this image.

Your journey is across the street from this parking lot. There is a blue trail across the street, follow the blue blazes on the telephone poles, along the guardrail into the woods. There is another reservoir here too. The reservoir will be on your left as you follow the blue blazes.

Follow the blue trail around the reservoir, you will pass an interesting rock on the right side of the trail. It says SARA on it and it is resting on a stick.

This trail parallels I-84 for the whole trip. It might follow it to Baker Rd or Banforth Rd,we did not investigate it.

As you walk past the reservoir there appears to be another reservoir also on the left side of the trail but very overgrown. You will cross a stream, it might be dried up but with this weather …………

Keep walking. I did not mention that this is a very very noisy trail. The trail is wonderful but the noise is awful.

You will pass a large uprooted tree on the right side of the trail. Keep going.

You will pass 3 tires on the left side of the trail. Keep going.

You will go downhill and then go uphill. Keep going uphill. Watch for a rock on the left side of the trail.( right on the trail). It looks like an anvil and is about the same size as an anvil. You can sit on it. 8 steps down the trail, stop. There will be a skinny white birch on the right side of the trail. Turn left and go 23 steps into the woods. There are pine trees and blueberry bushes around here.

The marvelous Maryland letterbox by Tempus Fugit waits behind an oak tree that is surrounded on the ground by moss. There are 2 rocks on the ground. Look under these rocks. This is about 25 minutes from the road.

Turn around and head back the way you came.

Village Street
South Willington
(stamp size 3 x 3 1/2)
Make your way to Village St in South Willington. Find your way to the Big Red Barn that is surprisingly still standing. It is located to the right of Hall’s Pond.
Park back here away from the dirt road.
Please bring black ink with you for this image.
There is a gate that leads to the beach area of Hall’s Pond.
You will want to make your way to the dirt road to the right of the gate. The pond will be on your left.
Quickly you will come to the stream. It was quite wide and flowing fast when we planted this box. {If you look to the left you will see a large fairy house made from twigs and look in the pond and you will find the Loch Ness monster made from the same materials………….he is swimming here . } Find a safe place to cross (as we did up stream). Go back to the dirt road/quad trail/ATV path. There will be a "Y" in the road. Go right. You will come to another "Y" and stay left.
You will come to another "Y" and the left is a grassy road and the right goes uphill. Stay left. The box is located about 5 minutes from here.
You will pass through a Mountain Laurel on both sides of the trail. Then you will come to an evergreen section. You will see that the trail is narrow and on the left side is a gully. The trail ended here. This area had fallen trees all around as if someone started clearing the area . There was a fallen tree covered with moss on the left side of the trail. To your right, there is one double trunk tree about 25 steps away . Behind that is a single and behind that is another double. 11 steps from this last tree to the right is a double moss covered stump. Behind that stump is a long fallen tree. Behind that tree is the marvelous Maryland letterbox by Tempus Fugit.
This is private property but we have permission from the owner to plant it here .
