Reservoir Road
Vernon
(stamp size 5 x 3)

From exit 67 on I-84, go south on route 31. Take an immediate right (no street sign today) onto Reservoir Road and drive about 1.4 miles. Parking is on the right near a wooden gate.
Please bring black ink with you.
Walk around the gate and head down the blue/yellow trail for a very short distance, watching for the yellow trail to turn left. Take the yellow trail until you cross a bridge and go up a few steps. Notice the nice falls on your left and watch for a 50 foot dead Hemlock on the right. There are a few moss covered logs behind this dead guy and a smaller tree appears to be growing out of them. Look at the base of this tree under bark to find the marvelous Missouri letterbox by Rozebud. There's plenty of bark around to recover well.
*Misouri state bird is the bluebird.
*State tree is the dogwood.
*State fish is the catfish!
*St. Louis' Gateway Arch is considered to be "the iconic image of St. Louis" and stands 630 feet tall, and 630 feet wide at its base, making it the tallest monument in the United States. (If there was any way to tie and "arch" into the clues, that would be really cool...but you're not just going to find natural arches around everywhere.)
*Columbia, MO is the state's "Letterboxing Capital" (hence the Lock & Lock on the stamp).
