Carion Road
Union
(stamp size(s) **a 5 1/2 x 8 sheet of paper will hold them all**)
In Union on route 197 east bound, turn left on Carion Road. Drive to the end and park at the new fence area provided by the nice neighbors.
From North Woodstock take route 197 west and take a right onto Carion Road etc.
Please bring a variety of colors including silver to do these images.
After parking your car, go through the gate to the left. Avoid the gate which proclaims No Trespassing. This is a mile walk along an old woods road sometimes used for logging purposes and will have a few wet spots at certain times of the year. At first there are Posted signs on both sides of the trail. Please respect this property by staying on the road and soon you’ll be entering the state forest with signs on the trees letting you know that.
Continue on this road, staying straight, ignoring another woods road on the right and then further on, one on the left with a green gate (open at the time of planting). Staying straight the road now appears to narrow but soon is a full fledged road again. There have been a few stonewalls along the way but now you need to see a really nice one on the right with a lovely rock ledge along the right side of the trail. After this wall comes to a corner and turns into the woods, you’ll enter a sort of gully with a state line marker up on the knoll to your right. With your back to the east side of the marker site 115 degrees and look under a two rock ledge (?) 15 feet away. The (g)narly North Carolina letterbox bt The Wolf Family is behind one moveable flat rock.
